What You Need Before You Start
Setting up IPTV on Mac OS is incredibly straightforward. Ensure you have the following ready before we begin:
Don’t have a subscription yet?
Get your login credentials instantly by choosing a plan from MODE IPTV. Once ordered, you’ll receive your Username, Password, and Server URL via email.
Method 1: Install IPTV Smarters Pro (Native Mac App)
IPTV Smarters Pro offers a dedicated `.dmg` application built specifically for Mac OS. This is our top recommendation as it perfectly supports Xtream Codes, VODs, and features a beautiful TV Guide.
Download the Mac App
Open Safari or Chrome and navigate to the official download page: iptvsmarters.com/download. Click on the button to download the “Mac OS” version.
Install the Software
Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder and double-click it. Drag the IPTV Smarters icon into your Applications folder when prompted.
Login with Xtream Codes
Launch the app from your Launchpad. Click “Login with Xtream Codes API”. Enter your MODE IPTV details (Name, Username, Password, and Server URL). Click Add User and enjoy!
Mac Security Prompt
If Mac OS blocks the app from opening because it’s from an “unidentified developer,” go to System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click “Open Anyway” next to IPTV Smarters.
Method 2: Setup via VLC Media Player (M3U Link)
If you prefer an open-source, lightweight media player, VLC is fantastic. This method relies on the **M3U URL** provided in your MODE IPTV welcome email.
Download VLC for Mac
If you don’t already have it, download VLC from videolan.org and install it on your Mac.
Open Network Stream
Open VLC. In the top Apple menu bar, click on File, then select Open Network… (or press CMD+N on your keyboard).
Paste Your M3U Link
Paste your full MODE IPTV M3U URL into the URL box. Click Open. VLC will take a few moments to load the channel list. To view the channels, click Window > Playlist (or CMD+Option+P).
Method 3: Using IINA Player (Mac Optimized)
IINA is a modern video player designed specifically for Mac OS. It looks much cleaner than VLC and supports Mac features like Force Touch, Picture-in-Picture, and Dark Mode.
Install IINA
Download IINA for free from iina.io and drag it to your Applications folder.
Open URL
Launch IINA. Click on File > Open URL… (or press CMD+Shift+O).
Enter M3U Link
Paste your MODE IPTV M3U URL and hit Play. IINA provides an incredibly smooth, native Mac playback experience.
